My decorating journey began as young married wife desiring a beautiful home with no money in the budget for furnishings, art and accessories! Taking castoff furnishings from friends and family, I was able to create spaces that were comforting, beautiful and welcoming to all who entered our home. Realizing I had a God given eye for beauty and a passion to help others create homes they loved to live in, I learned about "one day decorating",  a green concept of using what you have, and Real Estate Staging, preparing homes to sell. With the support and encouragement of my husband and family, I became certified in both areas working with home sellers and home dwellers.  With the success of my business, I was coming in contact with more and more women who were delighted with redesign or success of home staging and saw in them a desire to learn more. After spending 18 years home schooling three children, I’m ecstatic that in this next season of my life, I’m able to share and teach on subjects that I’m passionate about… which do not include algebra or diagramming sentences!

I believe that our surroundings really play such an important role in our lives and that everyone deserves wonderful, comfortable surroundings. 

Although I wear more than one "hat", my business, details, has grown out of a lifetime passion for working with the spaces we call ‘home’.  As I approached my…  heh-hym…  40’s…  I decided it was time to turn my hobby into something more and in 2005 I received my diploma in Interior Decorating and officially started my business. Shortly thereafter I was introduced to and fell in love with the concept of Interior Redesign (one day decorating using what you already own) after seeing it featured on an HGTV show. Already interested in the amazing benefits of Real Estate Home Staging, I enrolled in both an Interior Redesign and Real Estate Home Staging course and became certified in both areas. In my continuing efforts to grow and learn, and my desire to share information about my industry, I partnered with Roberta and created The Decorating Girls. Together, we’ve become instructors with Dish on Design enabling us to offer fun and creative workshops to all of you…  our fellow decorating girls. In addition to workshops, we also love sharing information with you through classes and by offering speaking engagements to women’s groups in our communities.
